March Theatre Update

oliviakskillern

Hello Theatre Parents!

I hope this message finds you well! As we gear up for the final stretch of our production of Little Shop of Horrors, I wanted to send a few quick reminders to ensure everything goes smoothly for both our students and their families.

Musical Parents

1. **Production Fees:**

A friendly reminder that the production fees are past due. If you have not already submitted them, please make sure they are turned in.

2. **Staying Healthy:**

With rehearsals intensifying during Tech Week and spring break approaching, we want to encourage students to take good care of themselves. Getting plenty of rest, staying hydrated, and eating well are all key to staying energized and performing at their best. We want every student to feel their best as they head into the final rehearsals and performances.

3. **Secret Pals:**

As we get closer to our performances of Little Shop, we’re excited to offer a fun tradition during show weeks: Secret Pals! This is a great way to spread joy and encourage a positive atmosphere during the busy performance schedule. Participation is completely optional, and it’s a wonderful way for our students to surprise and support each other.

Here’s how it works:

  • Gifts will be given at four evening public performances:**

    • Friday, March 21 and 28

    • Saturday, March 22 and 29

  • Each gift should have a value of no more than $5 (except for the March 29th gift, which can be up to $15).

  • Gifts should not be wrapped, but should be tagged with the recipient’s name (and not the giver’s name). The identity of the giver will remain a secret!

  • There will be a table available to place your gifts on when you arrive and sign in for each performance.

  • Take each gift home with you when you go home each night.

4. **Final Show Celebration:**

Once the curtain falls, we invite all the students involved in the show to stay after the final show for a celebration!

Here’s the plan:

  • Pizza will be provided, and we will take time to recognize our seniors for all their hard work and dedication throughout the production.

  • This celebration will last until about 11:30 PM, and it’s a great way for everyone to come together and celebrate the success of the show.

  • Participation is optional, but it is always a fun and memorable time for our students after all the hard work leading up to the final performance.

  • We highly encourage students to stay and join in the fun, but please know that it’s completely up to them. Students MUST be picked up after our celebration- please ensure they have a ride home!

5. **Strike & Parent Volunteer Opportunities:**

After the final show, we will be holding our strike (the breakdown and cleanup of the set) on March 31st. We will need extra hands to help make this happen, and we’d love for you to join us in making it a smooth and efficient process.

Additionally, we will be sending out a SignUp Genius link soon, where you can volunteer for various roles, such as helping in the box office, ushering, or concessions during the shows. Any time you can spare to assist will be greatly appreciated, and it’s a great way to get involved in making this production a success.

Thank you for all your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you at the show!
