Good evening Grissom High School Theatre Parents,

ree

The Walter Trumbauer Theatre competition is this weekend at James Clemens High School. Grissom Theatre will be performing their competition one-act this Friday, October 31st. Select students in Theatre II, III, and Tech II have signed up to participate in the competition's Individual Events this coming Saturday, November 1st. Below, you will find information regarding both days.

This link will have info regarding food options each day - Trumbauer info

Friday, October 31st - One Act

This day only applies to those involved in the one-act play Ernest and the Pale Moon. We will take a bus to James Clemens that morning. Students will be excused from classes. Once we perform the one-act, we will then remain to watch the remaining one acts from surrounding high schools. The plan is to arrive back at Grissom no later than 6 (I will send a message out via Remind when we are departing JC so that you may plan accordingly).

If your student needs to leave earlier than planned, you may pick them up from JC but you must check in with me before leaving.

As it is a normal school day at JC on Friday, the one acts are not open to the public. We will plan to have a public performance the evening of November 7.

Saturday November 1st - Individual Events

Students are responsible for their own transportation to James Clemens this Saturday. Carpooling is encouraged. Events start as early as 9am on Saturday. I am currently awaiting the specific schedule from the festival director so that students may have a better idea of when their specific event time is. THESE EVENTS ARE OPEN TO PARENTS WHO WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND. Students are not required to stay on campus all day on Saturday; however, I would encourage them to take the time to observe other students' events. This is also a great chance to meet like-minded students from other schools in our area.

Awards will be Saturday evening (time TBA). Once again, I would encourage all students to attend and support each other.

I realize this is a lot of information and it is quite possible (and likely) that I have forgotten or neglected something. There is some specific information that I am still waiting on as well. If you have any questions or need any clarifications, please feel free to reach out. I appreciate your patience.
